Malay, a first-class Municipality is the tourism capital of the Province of Aklan. Located at the northwestern tip of Panay Island, it is bounded on the north by Sibuyan and Sulu Seas, on the east by the Municipality of Nabas, on the west by the Municipality of Buruanga and on the south by the Province of Antique. Having a total land area of 6,731 hectares, it is politically divided into 17 barangays.


Malay, Aklan. Pursuant to the Memorandum Circular No. 2017-109 of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) dated August 23, 2017, the Municipality of Malay designated its Permanent Action Team for the implementation of the Citizens' Complaint Hotline 8888.

The Permanent Action Team will serve as the responsible body to answer the queries, concerns and complaints of Malaynons received through the Hotline 8888.

President Rodrigo R. Duterte commenced the 8888 hotline last August 1, 2016.

Hence, on September 6, 2017, Mayor Ceciron S. Cawaling signed the Executive Order No 30 which designated the Permanent Action Team for the Implementation of 8888 Citizens' Complaint Hotline. The Permanent Action Team is composed of:
